SUMMARY:Pilates Programming for Chronic Low Back Pain (CLBP) | 3 CECs
DESCRIPTION:Join Natural Pilates Founder\, Laura Wilson\, and Physical Therapist Dr. Juan Castellano\, as they explore Pilates for CLBP. \nThere are few studies that clearly demonstrates the efficacy of a specific Pilates exercise program over another exercise modality in the treatment of CLBP. However\, the consensus in the field suggests that the Pilates method is more effective than minimal physical exercise intervention in reducing pain. \nIn this course\, you’ll gain a thorough understanding of how targeted Pilates programming can alleviate discomfort and enhance quality of life for individuals suffering from this persistent ailment. You’ll learn to design and modify Pilates exercises to create a safe and effective routine that prioritizes spinal health. \nKey Takeaways: \n\nWhich specific modes of exercise training are most effective for treating low back pain?\n Effectiveness of Pilates exercises designed specifically for LBP compared with other methods\nLearn how to address muscle flexibility/extensibility\nPostural organization and functionality\nReducing pain and fatigue\n Educate clients for a long-term quality of life improvement

SUMMARY:Pilates Biomechanics for Overhead Sports | 3 CECs
DESCRIPTION:Biomechanics plays a key role in athlete development\, as all movements have a fundamental mechanical structure. Many injuries in overhead sports stem from mechanical causes related to overuse and lack of stability in the shoulder girdle and core.\nIn this workshop\, we will analyze common shoulder injuries and mechanical dysfunctions affecting overhead sports athletes\, including tennis\, golf\, volleyball\, basketball\, and handball.\nThis course is designed for Pilates trainers working with athletes who want to deepen their knowledge in injury prevention and rehabilitation for the shoulder and scapular girdle.\nThis workshop will provide practical tools and evidence-based knowledge to enhance the performance and health of overhead athletes through the Pilates method.

SUMMARY:Idiopathic Scoliosis: A new approach with corrective and adaptive Pilates programming | 6 NPCP CECs
DESCRIPTION:Join Natural Pilates Founder\, Laura Wilson\, and Physical Therapist Dr. Juan Castellano\, as they explore Pilates for scoliosis. \nJuan has a wealth of knowledge about scoliosis from many schools of thought. Although there is evidence in the medical literature that these schools have had some success in preventing scoliosis’ progression and in the reduction of cob degrees in idiopathic scoliosis\, we still need more research and practice to develop a fitness program that includes strength exercises (specifically in muscle hypertrophy) and aerobic physical condition\, which would provide a larger range of benefits for people with scoliosis\, specifically youths. \nIn this practical workshop\, Pilates Instructors will gain an understanding of the methodology and what kind of exercises (duration\, intensity and frequency) have the most benefits to achieve muscular condition and symmetry. We will also review contraindications\, specifically with intensity and ranges of motion adapted to different morphotypes.
